What this policy covers
We respect the rights of copyright owners and expect our users to do the same. This policy covers what is published on rankedprivateservers.com: server listings (names, descriptions, banners and links), reviews and replies, profile pictures and our own articles.
Game clients and other files that listed servers offer are downloaded from those servers' own websites, not from ours. If your complaint is about what a server itself distributes, also contact that server's owner or its hosting provider. On our side, we can remove or disable what appears on our site, including a listing and its links.
The process below follows the notice and counter-notice procedure of the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Sending a copyright notice
Send your notice through our contact form. The form is only available to signed-in users; registering is free and takes a username, an email address and a password.
Your notice must include:
- your name, postal address, phone number and email address;
- the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed or, if there are several, a list of them;
- the material you want removed and where it is on our site: the full address (URL) of each page and, for an image, which one;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf;
- your physical or electronic signature; typing your full name is enough.
We may send a copy of your notice to the person who posted the material, so that they can respond.
What happens next
We check that the notice is complete. If it is, we remove the material or disable access to it, and tell the person who posted it where we can, for example by email to their account. If something is missing, we may ask you to complete the notice before we act.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, or that you have the right to use it, you can send a counter-notice through the contact form. It must include:
- your name, postal address, phone number and email address;
- the material that was removed and the address (URL) where it appeared;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith that the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification;
- a statement that you agree to the jurisdiction of the United States federal district court for your address or, if your address is outside the United States, of any judicial district in which we may be found, and that you will accept service of legal papers from the person who sent the original notice or their agent;
- your physical or electronic signature.
We send a copy of the counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us before then that they have gone to court to keep the material off our site, we may restore it 10 to 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice.
Repeat infringers
Accounts of users who are the subject of repeated valid copyright notices will be closed in appropriate circumstances, and their listings removed. We may also stop them from registering again.
False claims
Only send a notice or counter-notice if you are sure of the facts. Under the DMCA, anyone who knowingly makes a false claim in either one can be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. If you are not sure whether material infringes your rights, consider getting legal advice first.
